Full time accounting manager for a community management firm in Central Florida, CAM license not required. Will be supervisor of the full service accounting team. Will be charged with managing a team to meet and exceed client expectations with respect to accounting and financial services for condominiums and homeowners associations. Must be knowledgeable in fund accounting and have experience working in CIRA industry. Experience working with industry specific software (i.e., Tops, Caliber, etc.) preferred.
Responsibilities:
* Provide oversight to existing accounting staff including allocation of resources and administration of quality assurance and control.
* Review, refine and develop policies and procedures for the effective and efficient execution of client related accounting and financial service needs and administrative functions.
* Participate in dialogue with board members related to accounting and financial questions and concerns.
* Provide education to community managers with respect to the interpretation, presentation and explanation of monthly financials to board members and community members.
* Participate in all facets of meeting accounting and financial related contractual client obligations including collection of unpaid assessments and fees, issuance of estoppel letters and lending questionnaires, preparation of monthly financials, etc.
* Participate in corporate relationships with third party vendors and business partners (financial institutions, software developers, educators, attorneys, subject matter experts, document repositories, etc.) and manage services being provided through training and ongoing participation in daily activities including ACH and other banking transactions, integration of new service offerings, troubleshooting of issues, development of training and educational curriculum, etc.
* Assist in preparation of annual operating budgets for clients.
* Understand all asset and liability accounts and reconcile to client balance sheets while evaluating the accounts for reasonableness and accuracy.
* Supervise the onboarding of new clients, specifically the setup of accounting books and configuration of document driven functions (i.e., assessment methodology, collection policies, open collection matters, etc.).
* Develop employment specifications, lead employment candidate evaluation and interview processes and provide onboarding and training for new employees.
* Coordinate with third party certified public accountants for the preparation of annual tax returns and audited financials including the review and execution of year end adjusting entries, as well as remittance of any tax liabilities for all clients.
* Identify and implement strategies for enhancement of corporate income and profitability through expanded service offerings and increased efficiencies within the accounting and finance silo.
* Participate in conversations and planning sessions with corporate leadership to develop and implement companywide strategies to expand customer base, grow service capabilities, assure adequate client service resources, maintain (increase) profitability and perpetuate a high level of service.
* Participate in continuing education opportunities and industry specific trade organizations in an effort to stay up to date on prevailing industry trends and grow corporate profile.
