A list of potential questions should be prepared by the search committee well in advance of the first set of manager interviews. The list can be used to compare the managers' responses to assist in selecting the right manager. It can include asking the candidates to describe their work experience along with their duties, responsibilities and accomplishments. They can be asked about their strengths, weaknesses, skills, qualities, management style, education and industry involvement. Some search committees also like to present the managers with hypothetical situations and ask how they would resolve the issue. The managers' plans and goals for the future are also good discussion topics.
