The interview process can be lengthy and time consuming for the Search Committee. A 10 minute telephone interview with each candidate can save a lot of time during this process. The Search Committee can create a brief checklist of the important issues for their association. The telephone interview can be used to screen the candidates and gain information to determine if the association and manager match on the major points of criteria. The results can be used to determine which candidates should be invited for personal interviews. It can also minimize travel expenses for out of town applicants.
